Everything about Celebi's stat line is built to win. 100 base HP leads the way, and even its worst stat (100 HP) isn't a real liability. Watch the Bug matchup though — quadruple damage means one hit can end it. A longtime staple going back to Gen 2.
You won't find a real weakness in Celebi's stat line. It's well-rounded for the Time Travel Pokemon, and what it does with that depends on moveset and items. Yields 3 HP EVs, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
This Pokémon has the ability to move through time. Records describing it as a forest deity can be found from many different eras.
This Pokémon traveled through time to come from the future. It bolsters grass and trees with its own strength, and it can heal wounds, too.
Celebi Weakness
FragileCelebi's Psychic/Grass typing leaves it vulnerable to Bug, Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, Ghost, and Dark moves. Bug hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It resists 6 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely. Celebi's overall bulk (100/100/100) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.
A Psychic/Grass-type mythical at 600 base stats, Celebi can't breed or evolve. Event distribution is the standard way to obtain one.
How to Evolve
U-turn keeps your team's momentum going. Celebi doesn't need to stay in long, Leftovers provides passive recovery each turn and max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs make every visit count. Psychic threatens on the way out. Natural Cure adds passive value.

The level-up pool is slim, so TMs matter here. Celebi's coverage across 9 types all comes from technical machines, built on top of Leaf Storm and Solar Blade for same-type damage. Future Sight and Leaf Storm are the payoff moves.

No wild encounters for Celebi in Sword & Shield. It's available in Crystal and can be transferred over. The details below show where to find it.
At 600 BST, Celebi is built different. We rank it B-Tier. As a Mythical Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a sweeper.
Watch for Scizor (Bug), Arcanine (Fire), and Lapras (Ice) when using Celebi. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Scizor is the most dangerous since Bug moves deal 4x damage. Poison, Flying, Ghost, and Dark-type attackers are also a problem. With 7 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. Celebi has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Celebi doesn't evolve. As a Mythical Pokemon, it stands on its own without an evolutionary line. It's a Psychic/Grass type with 600 BST.
Celebi gets Natural Cure. But Natural Cure is the one that matters — it's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that. With base 100 Speed, Natural Cure gives Celebi an edge before opponents can react.
Celebi is a special attacker with base 100 Sp. Atk. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 100 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the sweeper role.
Celebi appears in 16 games, including Gold & Silver, Crystal, and Ruby & Sapphire.
Introduced in Gold & Silver, Celebi shows up in 16 games across 8 generations. Mythical status keeps it locked behind events or specific story content in most appearances.
