Braixen sits in the middle of its evolution line — stronger than Fennekin but not yet at full power. Most trainers push through to Delphox as fast as possible. Known as the Fox Pokemon. Its damage comes from the special side.
Braixen's spread isn't flashy. Sp. Atk leads, Defense trails, 1 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 2 Sp. Atk EVs, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
It has a twig stuck in its tail. With friction from its tail fur, it sets the twig on fire and launches into battle.
When the twig is plucked from its tail, friction sets the twig alight. The flame is used to send signals to its allies.
Braixen Weakness
AvgType-wise, Braixen takes extra damage from Water, Ground, and Rock. 6 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that.
Braixen is the middle stage between Fennekin and Delphox. It's a three-stage line with one more evolution to go. For breeding, average hatch time with no compatible partners via one egg group. Sp.Atk has grown the most so far (+28), but there's still another 125 stats to gain in the final evolution.
How to Evolve
Breed with Braixen to get Fennekin eggs from the Ground egg group. Notable egg moves include Heat Wave, Hypnosis, Magic Coat and 1 more.
The special wall spread is where Braixen earns its spot. Eviolite for a bulk boost that only works before full evolution, Calm nature for the right lean, and Wish handles sustain. Magician does the rest without needing a move slot.

Braixen isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Delphox to unlock its full potential. At 409 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Braixen's biggest threats include Greninja (Water), Rhydon (Ground), and Aerodactyl (Rock), all carrying super-effective STAB moves.
Blaze is the go-to ability for Braixen. It strengthens fire moves to inflict 1.5× damage at 1/3 max HP or less. Its hidden ability Magician can work in specific setups.
Braixen fills the support role. It's leaning toward the special side (base 90 Sp. Atk). Base 73 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many.
