If Blaziken goes down before it attacks, it contributed nothing. If it doesn't, something on the other side is going down. Speed Boost raises its Speed every turn it stays in, which helps. Only weak to Water, Ground, Flying, and Psychic.
Everything pushes toward mixed damage here. Blaziken's Attack does the work, Defense pays the price. But you're still getting 3 Attack EVs per KO. Tough to catch, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
It learns martial arts that use punches and kicks. Every several years, its old feathers burn off, and new, supple feathers grow back in their place.
Blaziken Weakness
AvgWater, Ground, Flying, and Psychic-type moves hit Blaziken for super-effective damage. It resists 6 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely.
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
The three-stage chain from Torchic through Combusken ends here at Blaziken. Want more? Breed for Torchic eggs. A massive partner pool available via one egg group. The evolution from Torchic pushed Blaziken to 530 total stats. Attack saw the largest single gain at +60.
How to Evolve
Breed with Blaziken to get Torchic eggs using 102 partners from the Ground egg group. Notable egg moves include Counter, Endure, Reversal and 3 more.
The recommended build leans into Blaziken's strengths as an attacker. Salacberry provides extra utility, and max Attack and Speed EVs back that up. Blaze rounds out the package.

Don't skip the egg moves. Blaziken picks up Counter and Endure only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Focus Punch and Overheat while Normal and Flying coverage and more adds range.

Can't catch Blaziken directly. Start with Torchic but it's a rare spawn from the locations below, then evolve at level 36. The 3-stage chain from Torchic to Blaziken is where the leveling time goes.
Blaziken looks average on paper at 530 BST. But Speed Boost is why it sees play — build around that and it pulls its weight. B-Tier cannon on our tier list.
Watch for Starmie (Water), Golem (Ground), and Aerodactyl (Flying) when using Blaziken. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Psychic-type attackers are also a problem.
Blaziken gets Speed Boost and Blaze. But Speed Boost is the one that matters — it's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Blaziken is a special attacker with base 110 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 80 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. Fits the cannon role.
