Binacle is technically a pre-evolution of Barbaracle, but it holds its own in formats where Eviolite is allowed. Tough Claws boosts contact moves by 30%, adding extra value. Watch the Grass matchup though — quadruple damage means one hit can end it. Known as the Two-Handed Pokemon.
Defense and Sp. Def carry most of Binacle's stat budget. Sp. Atk's the obvious dump stat. Common in the wild and yields 1 Attack EV. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
After two Binacle find a suitably sized rock, they adhere themselves to it and live together. They cooperate to gather food during high tide.
If the two don’t work well together, both their offense and defense fall apart. Without good teamwork, they won’t survive.
Binacle Weakness
VulnerableBinacle is weak to Grass, Electric, Fighting, and Ground-type moves. Watch out for Grass attacks, those deal 4x damage. 5 resistances help offset the weaknesses.
One evolution ahead. Binacle grows into Barbaracle through a straightforward two-stage chain. A decent partner pool for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. Evolving adds up to 194 stat points total.
How to Evolve
Breed Binacle easily with 32 breeding partners from the Water3 egg group. Pass egg moves like Night Slash, Sand Attack, Switcheroo to offspring.

Binacle is meant to evolve into Barbaracle. At 306 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.
Binacle's biggest threats include Venusaur (Grass), Jolteon (Electric), and Conkeldurr (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Venusaur is the most dangerous since Grass moves deal 4x damage. Ground-type attackers are also a problem.
Binacle evolves into Barbaracle at level 39. Binacle is the base form of this evolutionary line.
Tough Claws is what you want on Binacle. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Sniper, Pickpocket) work on paper but Tough Claws is what makes Binacle worth using.
Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Binacle is leaning toward the physical side (base 52 Attack). Defensively? Fragile — can't afford to take many hits.
Binacle appears in 6 games, including X & Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.
Binacle joined the series in X & Y and has been available in 6 titles so far. With 4 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
