This year the Pokemon GO Christmas Event will be ongoing during the holiday season and will come in two parts. Pokemon GO Holiday Item Packs, also referred to as Gift Boxes are bundles of several items that can be purchased at the Poke Shop for a discounted price.
These Holiday Item Packs are only available for a limited time during the holiday season event. The first 3 available during the Christmas Event and then another 3 during the New Years Event.

- Pokemon GO Christmas Event Phase 1: Starts December 25th – Ends January 3rd
- Players will receive 1 single use Egg Incubator each day from the first Daily Bonus Pokestop photo disc spin.
- Increased Chances to hatch a Generation 2 Pokemon ( Example: Cleffa, Igglybuff, Togepi, Pichu, Elekid, Magby, Smoochum)
- Pokemon GO Christmas Event Phase 2: Starts December 30th – Ends January 8
- Lure Modules will last 60 Minutes, instead of the standard 30 Minutes.

How You Can Prepare This Holiday Season For The Pokemon GO Christmas & New Years Event
- Stocking Up On Phase 1 Egg Incubators: Keep note that Phase 1 Holiday Item Pack Gift Boxes contain Egg incubators at a discounted price. During Phase 2 Pokemon GO New Years Event when Niantic introduces 3 more NEW Holiday Gift Boxes they will NOT contain Egg Incubators, instead, they will have Incense, Lure Modules, Lucky Eggs, Regular and Great Pokeballs.
- Special Box – 250 | 2 = 125 per incubator
- Great Box – 550 | 4 = 137.5 per incubator
- Ultra Box – 1500 | 6 = 250 per incubator
- Keep Warm With A Buddy: You plan to be out and about using those free incubators, don’t forget to bring the best buddy Pokemon with you using a Buddy Tier List.
- Important: Don’t forget to bring some type of Phone Charging Device if you plan to be walking around for awhile. This may not be necessary if you play it smart and find an indoor location that allows for phone charging. normally places of business are not shy to offer Pokemon Go Players this service. Your Location is important during the New Years Event since you will want to be near a Pokestop at the very least.
