BEST LEGENDS: ARCEUS POKEMON
Game Notes
Legends: Arceus plays nothing like a standard Pokemon game. There are no abilities, no held items, and the battle system uses Agile Style (act first, less power) and Strong Style (more power, act later) instead of traditional turns. Ursaluna at 140 Attack is one of the strongest new Pokemon. Hisuian Zoroark (Normal/Ghost) is the first Pokemon with that typing, giving it three immunities. Tier rankings here focus on boss fights, catching efficiency, and which Pokemon handle the story challenges best.

Garchomp
130 Attack at 102 Speed. Dragon/Ground with Earthquake and Outrage. Legends: Arceus removes abilities, but Garchomp's raw Attack and Speed don't need Rough Skin to dominate. Strong Style Earthquake hits even harder at the cost of turn order.

Arceus
720 BST with 120 in every stat. Legends: Arceus removes abilities, but Arceus's raw stat total needs no ability support. The type-changing Plates still work, and Extreme Speed in the Agile/Strong Style system provides flexible priority options.

FAQ
Ursaluna is one of the strongest new Pokemon. Ground/Normal typing with 140 Attack hits incredibly hard. Hisuian Zoroark (Normal/Ghost) has three immunities and strong offensive stats. For late-game, Garchomp is still a 600 BST monster available from Gible in the Coronet Highlands.
Almost everything changed. You catch Pokemon by throwing Poke Balls in the overworld without battling first. The turn system uses Agile Style (faster but weaker) and Strong Style (stronger but slower). There are no abilities and no held items. Research tasks replace gym badges. Noble Pokemon are boss fights where you dodge attacks in real time. It's closer to an action RPG than a traditional Pokemon game.
Hisuian forms are ancient variants of existing Pokemon with different types and stats. Hisuian Zoroark (Normal/Ghost) has three immunities and strong mixed offense. Hisuian Goodra (Steel/Dragon) trades special bulk for physical defense and gains Steel's resistances. Hisuian Typhlosion (Fire/Ghost) is the best starter evolution with good Sp. Atk and a unique typing.
Cyndaquil. Hisuian Typhlosion's Fire/Ghost typing is the most useful since Ghost STAB hits a wide range of Hisui's threats. Oshawott into Hisuian Samurott (Water/Dark) is a close second. Rowlet into Hisuian Decidueye (Grass/Fighting) is the weakest pick since Fighting coverage is less useful in Hisui's boss fights.
Hisuian Typhlosion (starter), Ursaluna from Ursaring in Crimson Mirelands, Hisuian Zoroark from Zorua in Alabaster Icelands, Garchomp from Gible in Coronet Highlands, Hisuian Goodra from Goomy in Crimson Mirelands, and Gyarados from Magikarp in Obsidian Fieldlands. Heavy on Hisuian forms since they're tuned for this game.
Alpha Pokemon are oversized wild Pokemon with higher levels and boosted effort levels. They're tougher to catch but come with better stats than normal catches. Some guard specific areas and act as mini-bosses. They're absolutely worth catching since their stat boosts make them immediately stronger than anything you've trained to the same level. Look for Alpha Garchomp and Alpha Gyarados for easy power spikes.
No. Abilities are completely removed, just like in Let's Go. Pokemon that relied on their ability for viability (like Slaking with Truant, or Azumarill with Huge Power) rank completely differently here. Raw base stats, typing, and movepool are the only things that matter. Some Pokemon that were held back by bad abilities actually rank higher in Legends: Arceus.
