Mid-stage Pokemon like Impidimp rarely see competitive play outside of special formats. It's a waypoint on the road to Grimmsnarl, which is where the real potential kicks in. Known as the Wily Pokemon. Introduced in Gen 8.

An unusually even spread gives Impidimp flexibility. Sp. Atk barely edges ahead. But Defense isn't far off. Easy to catch and follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve. Yields 1 Sp. Atk EV.

The reason this Pokémon causes trouble for those it feels close to is because Impidimp itself gets irritable if it can’t absorb negative emotions.

Scarlet

They live in groups, pestering and playing pranks on each other to polish their troublemaking skills.

Impidimp Weakness

Good

Impidimp's Dark/Fairy typing leaves it vulnerable to Poison, Steel, and Fairy moves. It shrugs off Psychic and Dragon-type attacks completely.

  • Impidimp is meant to evolve into Morgrem. At 265 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.

  • Watch for Nidoking (Poison), Metagross (Steel), and Sylveon (Fairy) when using Impidimp. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB.

  • Impidimp evolves into Morgrem at level 32. Impidimp is the base form in a 3-stage evolutionary line.

  • Prankster is what you want on Impidimp. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Frisk, Pickpocket) work on paper but Prankster is what makes Impidimp worth using.

  • Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Impidimp is leaning toward the special side (base 55 Sp. Atk). Defensively? Fragile — can't afford to take many hits.

  • Impidimp can be found in Scarlet & Violet and Sword & Shield.

Impidimp joined the series in Sword & Shield and has been available in 2 titles so far. With 2 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
