Routes wrap Pewter on two sides: Route 2 and Viridian Forest to the south, Route 3 running east toward Mt. Moon. The gym and Museum face each other near the main path.

No. The VS Seeker only works on outdoor routes where trainers are standing. It won't activate inside cities, buildings, or caves. Head to a nearby route if you need trainer rematches for experience or money.
