Free switch-ins on Ghost moves make Wyrdeer useful in any team that needs that coverage. Only 2 weaknesses keeps it safe in most matchups. Intimidate lowers the opponent's Attack on switch-in. Known as the Big Horn Pokemon.

The stat line revolves around Attack. Percentage recovery gets extra mileage here. Sp. Atk backs it up, though Speed doesn't pull its weight. Worth 2 Attack and Sp. Atk EVs on a slow 1.25M XP grind to max out.

The black orbs shine with an uncanny light when the Pokémon is erecting invisible barriers. The fur shed from its beard retains heat well and is a highly useful material for winter clothing.

Wyrdeer Weakness

Good

Wyrdeer's Normal/Psychic typing leaves it vulnerable to Bug and Dark moves. It shrugs off Ghost-type attacks completely. Sap Sipper grants an additional Grass immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. With 103 HP and balanced defenses, Wyrdeer can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

You'll want to breed for Bite and Disable on Wyrdeer. These egg moves aren't just nice to have. Combined with STAB from Giga Impact and Hyper Beam, they expand what Wyrdeer can actually threaten in practice.

Wyrdeer doesn't appear wild. Catch Stantler instead, it shows up at solid rates. Evolve it through a special method to get Wyrdeer. The 2-stage line is mapped in the step cards below.

How to Obtain Wyrdeer in Scarlet & Violet

Stantler is your first catch on the way to Wyrdeer. You'll find walking encounters from Lv. 15-40 across 4 total spots in the chain.

  2. Wyrdeer
    Step 2Wyrdeer
  • Wyrdeer looks average on paper at 525 BST. But Intimidate is why it sees play — build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier attacker on our tier list.

  • Watch for Genesect (Bug) and Tyranitar (Dark) when using Wyrdeer. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Stantler evolves into Wyrdeer using a Psyshield Bash 20 Times In Agile Style. Wyrdeer is the fully evolved form. At 525 BST, it's got solid stats to work with.

  • Wyrdeer gets Intimidate, Frisk, and Sap Sipper. But Intimidate is the one that matters — it's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • Wyrdeer is a mixed attacker — base 105 Attack and 105 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. But the speed tells the real story — at base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. Fits the attacker role.

  • Wyrdeer can be found in Scarlet & Violet and Legends: Arceus.

Since Sword & Shield, Wyrdeer has been obtainable in 2 games. A Generation 8 debut means a shorter history, but Wyrdeer has appeared steadily across every generation since.
