Almost nobody uses Sentret in battle. It exists to evolve into Furret, which is a completely different story. Get it there and you won't regret it. Part of the Gen 2 roster. Ghost moves can't touch it, and only a single type hits it super-effectively.
Nothing fancy in Sentret's spread. It leans mixed with Attack out front. And you'll get 1 Attack EV per KO for it. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
It has a very nervous nature. It stands up high on its tail so it can scan wide areas.
Sentret Weakness
GoodFighting-type moves hit Sentret for super-effective damage. The upside? Ghost-type moves can't touch it at all. Sentret's Normal typing only leaves 1 gap to cover.
Sentret is the base form in a two-stage line leading to Furret. Check the evolution method below. A massive partner pool for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are quick to hatch. The evolved forms gain up to 200 total stats over Sentret.
How to Evolve
Breed Sentret easily with 195 breeding partners from the Ground egg group. Pass egg moves like Baby-Doll Eyes, Focus Energy, Last Resort and 3 more to offspring.
Sentret leads with Focus Sash insurance. Even if it can't take a hit naturally, it'll survive long enough to deal early damage. Max Attack and Speed EVs go all-in on offense since bulk doesn't matter here.

At 215 BST, Sentret is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Furret before bringing it to any serious fight.
Watch for Hitmonlee (Fighting) when using Sentret. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. At base 20 Speed, Sentret won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Sentret evolves into Furret at level 15. Sentret is the base form of this evolutionary line.
Run Away ensures success fleeing from wild battles — that's the one you want on Sentret. Frisk is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Keen Eye works too if your team needs something different.
Sentret is a physical attacker with base 46 Attack. Fragile — can't afford to take many hits, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 20 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.
Sentret appears in 16 games, including Gold & Silver, Crystal, and Ruby & Sapphire.
Debuting in Gold & Silver, Sentret appears in 16 games across 8 generations. A reliable presence in most mainline games, typically found through catching or hatching as a base form.
