Free switch-ins on Dragon moves make Ribombee useful in any team that needs that coverage. Known as the Bee Fly Pokemon. The stat spread leans into special offense.
Everything pushes toward special damage here. Ribombee's Speed does the work, Attack pays the price. But you're still getting 2 Speed EVs per KO. Moderately hard to find, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
It makes pollen puffs from pollen and nectar. The puffs’ effects depend on the type of ingredients and how much of each one is used.
Ribombee absolutely hate getting wet or rained on. In the cloudy Galar region, they are very seldom seen.
Ribombee Weakness
AvgRibombee's Bug/Fairy typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Poison, Flying, Rock, and Steel moves. It shrugs off Dragon-type attacks completely. The Bug/Fairy typing picks up 5 resistances to work with. At base 124 Speed, Ribombee outspeeds most threats and doesn't need to tank what it can outrun.
Ribombee is what Cutiefly becomes. Breed it for Cutiefly eggs (average hatch time). A decent partner pool for breeding via two egg groups. Eggs are average hatch time. The evolution from Cutiefly pushed Ribombee to 464 total stats. Sp.Atk saw the largest single gain at +40.
How to Evolve
One guaranteed turn is all Ribombee needs. Focus Sash buys it, max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs make it count, and Shielddust adds something extra. The goal: get Sticky Web up and deal damage with Moonblast. Utility options gives it play beyond just the lead turn.

The level-up pool is slim, so TMs matter here. Ribombee's Grass and Normal coverage and more all comes from technical machines, built on top of Bug Buzz and Play Rough for same-type damage. Bug Buzz and Energy Ball are the payoff moves.

Ribombee works as a pivot with 464 BST behind it. B-Tier on our list — a solid choice for the right team. That 124 base Speed does the heavy lifting.
Watch for Infernape (Fire), Gengar (Poison), and Aerodactyl (Flying) when using Ribombee. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Rock and Steel-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. Ribombee's base 124 Speed lets it outpace many threats and strike first, which matters more than trying to tank hits.
Cutiefly evolves into Ribombee at level 25. Ribombee is the fully evolved form. It sits at 464 BST in its evolved form.
Honey Gather the Pokémon may pick up honey after battle — that's the one you want on Ribombee. Sweet Veil is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Shield Dust works too if your team needs something different.
Ribombee is a special attacker with base 95 Sp. Atk. But the speed tells the real story — base 124 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the pivot role.
Ribombee can be found in Scarlet & Violet, Sword & Shield, Sun & Moon, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.
Since Sun & Moon, Ribombee has been obtainable in 4 games. A Generation 7 debut means a shorter history, but Ribombee has appeared steadily across every generation since.
