Free switch-ins on Ghost moves make Pyroar useful in any team that needs that coverage. Known as the Royal Pokemon. Its damage comes from the special side.
Everything pushes toward special damage here. Pyroar's Sp. Atk does the work, Sp. Def pays the price. But you're still getting 2 Sp. Atk EVs per KO. Moderately hard to find, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
The females of a pride work together to bring down prey. It’s thanks to them that their pride doesn’t starve.
The mane of a male Pyroar heats up to over 3,600 degrees Fahrenheit during battle. Merely approaching it will cause severe burns.
Pyroar Weakness
GoodPyroar is weak to Water, Fighting, Ground, and Rock-type moves. On the flip side, it's immune to Ghost-type moves entirely. It resists 6 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely.
Pyroar is what Litleo becomes. Breed it for Litleo eggs (average hatch time). No compatible partners for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. The evolution from Litleo pushed Pyroar to 507 total stats. Sp.Atk saw the largest single gain at +36.
How to Evolve
Breed with Pyroar to get Litleo eggs from the Ground egg group.
Flamethrower is the safe click most turns. Choice Specs locks Pyroar into it but rewards with boosted special damage with move lock. Timid nature and max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs maximize that first hit. Unnerve helps on the margins.

Most of Pyroar's flexibility comes from TMs. Same-type output runs through Giga Impact and Hyper Beam, but Dark and Ground and the rest of the TM pool push it from predictable to genuinely threatening.

Pyroar works as a sweeper with 507 BST behind it. B-Tier on our list — a solid choice for the right team. That 109 base Sp. Atk does the heavy lifting.
Pyroar's biggest threats include Milotic (Water), Conkeldurr (Fighting), and Excadrill (Ground), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Rock-type attackers are also a problem.
Litleo evolves into Pyroar at level 35. Pyroar is the fully evolved form. At 507 BST, it's got solid stats to work with.
Rivalry is the go-to ability for Pyroar. It increases damage inflicted to 1.25× against Pokémon of the same gender, but decreases damage to 0.75× against the opposite gender. Its hidden ability Moxie can work in specific setups. Unnerve is the other option — pick based on what your team needs.
Pyroar is a special attacker with base 109 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 106 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the sweeper role.
