Noibat doesn't have much going for it on its own — the stats just aren't there. The payoff is Noivern, and getting there is worth the grind. Known as the Sound Wave Pokemon. Been around since Gen 6.
Noibat's stats barely vary. 0 sit in respectable range with no real gaps. It's a blank slate for EV investment. Worth 1 Speed EV, medium-fast 1M XP curve to max.
After nightfall, they emerge from the caves they nest in during the day. Using their ultrasonic waves, they go on the hunt for ripened fruit.
No wavelength of sound is beyond Noibat’s ability to produce. The ultrasonic waves it generates can overcome much larger Pokémon.
Noibat Weakness
GoodType-wise, Noibat takes extra damage from Ice, Rock, Dragon, and Fairy. Watch out for Ice attacks, those deal 4x damage. Ground moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. It resists 5 types, giving it decent defensive coverage.
Noibat evolves into Noivern. It's a two-stage chain with the method shown below. Plenty of partners for breeding via two egg groups. Eggs are average hatch time. Evolving adds up to 290 stat points total.
How to Evolve
Breed Noibat easily with 60 breeding partners from the Dragon and Flying egg groups. Pass egg moves like Defog, Dragon Rush to offspring.

Frisk is the go-to ability for Noibat. It reveals an opponent's held item upon entering battle. Its hidden ability Telepathy can work in specific setups. Infiltrator is the other option — pick based on what your team needs.
Noibat fills the balanced role. It's leaning toward the special side (base 45 Sp. Atk). At base 55 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's fragile — can't afford to take many hits.
Noibat appears in 7 games, including X & Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.
Introduced in X & Y, Noibat has appeared in 7 games across 4 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
