MILD NATURE CALCULATOR

Legends: Arceus uses Effort Levels instead of EVs and a different stat formula than mainline games. Natures still boost one stat by 10% and lower another, but the final numbers differ from what you'd see in Scarlet & Violet or Sword & Shield. The Mild nature calculator below uses the standard competitive formula (Lv50, 31 IVs). For PLA-specific stat calculations, the values shown here are approximate.

BEST MILD NATURE POKEMON

Sp. Attack goes up 10%, Defense goes down. Mild is a pick for Pokemon that mix physical and special attacks but lean toward the special side. Over in Legends: Arceus, Chatot, Dewott, Cyndaquil, and others all run Mild in competitive play. Legends: Arceus assigns natures randomly. No breeding, no Synchronize, no mints. Getting Mild is pure luck.

Mild raises Sp. Attack by 10% and lowers Defense by 10%. Special attackers willing to sacrifice physical bulk. 6 Pokemon competitively run this nature.

MILD FAQs

What does the Mild nature do in Pokemon?
It's a +10% Sp. Attack, -10% Defense nature. The 10% multiplier applies after base stats and EVs, so the actual point difference grows as stats get higher. Pokemon with Mild nature prefer Dry flavor and dislike Sour.
What are the best Mild nature Pokemon?
Chatot, Dewott, Cyndaquil, and Mime Jr. are among the strongest Mild picks. What they share is a reliance on Sp. Attack and little need for Defense. Check the tier list for current rankings.
Is Mild a good nature for competitive Pokemon?
Yes. It's one of the most-used natures in competitive formats. You'll see Mild on dedicated Sp. Attack-focused builds across most tiers and formats.
How do I get a Mild nature Pokemon?
Three options: (1) Synchronize lead forces wild Pokemon to match your lead's nature. (2) Everstone breeding passes the nature 100% of the time since Gen 5. (3) a Mild Mint changes the stat effects after the fact. Mints don't change the nature name, just the stat modifiers.
Should I use Mild or Modest?
It depends on what your team needs. Mild is the mixed offense option. Modest is the dedicated special option. Most of the time, your Pokemon's moveset and role make the decision obvious.
