Lurantis's stats are solid on their own, but Contrary is what pushes it over the line. It reverses stat changes — what should be a debuff becomes a boost. 5 type weaknesses to keep in mind. Known as the Bloom Sickle Pokemon.
Attack and Defense carry most of Lurantis's stat budget. Speed's the obvious dump stat. Moderately hard to find and yields 2 Attack EVs. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
It requires a lot of effort to maintain Lurantis’s vivid coloring, but some collectors enjoy this work and treat it as their hobby.
It fires beams from its sickle-shaped petals. These beams are powerful enough to cleave through thick metal plates.
Lurantis Weakness
FragileType-wise, Lurantis takes extra damage from Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses. That's a lot of weak spots to cover so team support is important.
Evolved from Fomantis. Lurantis is the final form in this two-stage line. No compatible partners for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. Defense grew the most through evolution (+55 over Fomantis), and Lurantis peaks at 480 total stats.
How to Evolve
Breed with Lurantis to get Fomantis eggs easily from the Plant egg group. Notable egg moves include Aromatherapy, Defog, Giga Drain and 2 more.
Nothing fancy here. Lurantis builds around Sitrus Berry for a one-time health recovery at low HP, Brave nature for the right stat lean, and max HP and Attack EVs. Contrary does its job quietly.

Recommended Teammates
The egg pool carries weight here. Aromatherapy and Defog aren't available any other way for Lurantis, and they meaningfully change what it threatens. Stack those on top of Leaf Storm and Solar Blade for solid options.

Step 2Lurantis ✓
Contrary changes the entire equation for Lurantis. The 480 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as an attacker.
Fomantis evolves into Lurantis at level 34. Lurantis is the fully evolved form. At 480 BST, it's got solid stats to work with.
Contrary is what you want on Lurantis. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Leaf Guard) work on paper but Contrary is what makes Lurantis worth using.
Base 45 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Lurantis is a physical attacker with base 105 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as an attacker.
Lurantis can be found in Scarlet & Violet, Sword & Shield, Sun & Moon, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.
Lurantis joined the series in Sun & Moon and has been available in 4 titles so far. With 3 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
