Fire and Flying is a dangerous matchup for Leavanny — quadruple damage means one hit can end things. Chlorophyll helps compensate. It sits at a decent but contested Speed tier. Known as the Nurturing Pokemon.
Nothing fancy in Leavanny's spread. It leans physical with Attack out front. And you'll get 3 Attack EVs per KO for it. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Upon finding a small Pokémon, it weaves clothing for it from leaves by using the sticky silk secreted from its mouth.
It keeps its eggs warm with heat from fermenting leaves. It also uses leaves to make warm wrappings for Sewaddle.
Leavanny Weakness
FragileType-wise, Leavanny takes extra damage from Fire, Flying, Ice, Poison, Bug, and Rock. Watch out for Fire and Flying attacks, those deal 4x damage. The Bug/Grass typing picks up 5 resistances to work with.
The three-stage chain from Sewaddle through Swadloon ends here at Leavanny. Want more? Breed for Sewaddle eggs. No compatible partners available via one egg group. The evolution from Sewaddle pushed Leavanny to 500 total stats. Attack saw the largest single gain at +50.
How to Evolve
Breed with Leavanny to get Sewaddle eggs easily from the Bug egg group. Notable egg moves include Agility, Air Slash, Baton Pass and 6 more.
Leafblade is the main STAB option after a Swords Dance boost. Life Orb gives Leavanny extra damage on every hit for a health trade to survive the setup turn, and max Attack and Speed EVs make the boosted hits count. The remaining moves catches resists.

Breeding's the move. Agility and Air Slash give Leavanny options it can't learn any other way, and coverage across 7 types already covers a decent range on top of Leaf Storm and Solar Beam. The egg moves push it further.

How to Obtain Leavanny in X & Y
Leavanny looks average on paper at 500 BST. But Chlorophyll is why it sees play — build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier attacker on our tier list.
Leavanny's biggest threats include Blaziken (Fire), Salamence (Flying), and Walrein (Ice), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Blaziken is the most dangerous since Fire moves deal 4x damage. Poison, Bug, and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Leavanny gets Chlorophyll, Swarm, and Overcoat. But Chlorophyll is the one that matters — it's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Leavanny is a physical attacker with base 103 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 92 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. Fits the attacker role.
Leavanny appears in 7 games, including Black & White, Black 2 & White 2, and X & Y.
Since Black & White, Leavanny has been obtainable in 7 games. A Generation 5 debut means a shorter history, but Leavanny has appeared steadily across every generation since.
