Is Giratina Good in Legends: Arceus Playthrough?
Ghost/Dragon Giratina is the postgame final boss alongside Volo. After defeating it, Giratina becomes catchable. Massive HP and balanced offenses make it one of the strongest Pokemon available. The Origin Form has even higher offensive stats.
How to Get Giratina in Legends: Arceus
You'll find Giratina at Turnback Cave as a set encounter. It's always there at that location, so come prepared for the battle. The location details below cover exact positioning.

Giratina Weakness
Giratina's Ghost/Dragon typing leaves it vulnerable to Ice, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, and Fairy. It shrugs off Normal and Fighting-type attacks completely. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Giratina's overall bulk (150/100/100) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, Fairy |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Poison, Bug |

STAB options run deep here. Giratina doesn't have to settle for one Ghost and Dragon attack when there's a whole lineup. Draco Meteor and Shadow Force are the headliners, with coverage across 12 types backing them up.

Giratina loses its legs upon changing into this form. I believe this Pokémon must hail from a world where the heavens and the earth are as one, though I have no way of proving it.
Giratina Legends: Arceus Guide
For the Legends: Arceus meta, At 680 BST, Giratina is built different. We rank it S-Tier. As a Legendary Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a wall. Will O Wisp with Leftovers is the standard set.
Giratina is a static encounter at Hisui Turnback Cave in Legends: Arceus. Giratina appears at level 70. Prerequisite: Mission: Post-story, Spring Path to Turnback Cave. Save before the encounter. These one-shot Pokemon don't respawn if you knock them out or run out of Poke Balls.
In Legends: Arceus, watch for Weavile (Ice), Dusknoir (Ghost), and Kingdra (Dragon) when using Giratina. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Dark and Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. Giratina has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Levitate is what you want on Giratina. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. On wall sets, Levitate pairs with Giratina's base 100 Defense to absorb physical hits on the switch.
Base 90 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Giratina is a physical attacker with base 120 Attack. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a wall.
