Stats & Training
Bellossom's built to absorb hits, not race for knockouts. Balanced defenses with Sp. Def doing the heavy lifting. And the 1.06M XP medium-slow curve means it won't take forever to bring up, worth 3 Sp. Def EVs.
Bellossom gather at times and seem to dance. They say that the dance is a ritual to summon the sun.
When the heavy rainfall season ends, it is drawn out by warm sunlight to dance in the open.
Bellossom Weakness
Type-wise, Bellossom takes extra damage from Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug. The Grass typing picks up 4 resistances to work with.

X & Y Evolution
Bellossom is one of 2 ways Gloom's chain can end. This one takes the item path, while the siblings go different directions. Breed through Oddish to get eggs. Bellossom and Vileplume share the same 490 total stats, but they're distributed differently. Check the comparison below to see where each one specializes. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Bellossom to get Oddish eggs easily using 59 partners from the Plant egg group. Notable egg moves include After You, Charm, Flail and 7 more.
X & Y Bellossom Best Moveset
Fairy coverage keeps opponents guessing about Bellossom's real targets. Expert Belt provides a super-effective damage boost without item lock while spread EVs and Hardy nature handle the stat profile. Chlorophyll ties it together.

Moves
Breeding's the move. After You and Charm give Bellossom options it can't learn any other way, and Normal and Fairy coverage and more already covers a decent range on top of Leaf Storm and Solar Beam. The egg moves push it further.

How to Get Bellossom in X & Y
No wild encounters for Bellossom. The 3-stage chain runs through Oddish, which you can catch at solid rates from the locations below. Evolve through a special method once you've got the levels.
Bellossom Guide
In X & Y, Bellossom looks average on paper at 490 BST. But Chlorophyll is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier support on our tier list. Dazzling Gleam with Expert Belt is the standard set.
Bellossom gets Chlorophyll and Healer. But Chlorophyll is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Bellossom is a special attacker with base 90 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the support role.
For X & Y, the core moveset is Dazzling Gleam, Energy Ball, Moonblast, and Toxic. Dazzling Gleam leads at 25% usage. This set covers the support role with a mix of damage and utility.
Game Availability
Since Gold & Silver, Bellossom has been in 18 games. Requiring an item-based evolution to obtain means it's consistently available but requires more effort than simply catching it in the wild.
