Mid-stage Pokemon like Vibrava rarely see competitive play outside of special formats. It's a waypoint on the road to Flygon, which is where the real potential kicks in. Known as the Vibration Pokemon. Can go either physical or special depending on the set.

You won't find a real weakness in Vibrava's stat line. It's well-rounded for the Vibration Pokemon, and what it does with that depends on moveset and items. Yields 2 Attack and Speed EVs, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.

Vibrava Weakness

Avg

Ice, Dragon, and Fairy-type moves hit Vibrava for super-effective damage. Ice hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Electric-type moves can't touch it at all. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart.

Vibrava sits between Trapinch and Flygon in this three-stage line. Not the final form yet. For breeding, average hatch time with plenty of partners via two egg groups. So far, Speed got the biggest boost (+60 from Trapinch). The final form adds another 180 stats on top.

The level-up pool is slim, so TMs matter here. Vibrava's coverage across 7 types all comes from technical machines, built on top of Draco Meteor and Outrage for same-type damage. Bug Buzz and Earth Power are the payoff moves.

Vibrava can't be caught in Scarlet & Violet. Transfer Trapinch from Ruby, Emerald, or Brilliant Diamond and evolve through the 2-stage line to get it. The step cards below map the full chain.

How to Obtain Vibrava in Scarlet & Violet

  1. Trapinch
    Step 1Obtain Trapinch
  2. Vibrava
    Step 2Vibrava
  • At 340 BST, Vibrava is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Flygon before bringing it to any serious fight.

  • Watch for Walrein (Ice), Salamence (Dragon), and Clefable (Fairy) when using Vibrava. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Walrein is the most dangerous since Ice moves deal 4x damage.

  • Trapinch evolves into Vibrava at level 35. Vibrava evolves into Flygon at level 45. Vibrava is a middle-stage evolution in the Trapinch line.

  • Vibrava gets Levitate. But Levitate is the one that matters — it's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • Vibrava is leaning toward the physical side (base 70 Attack). Fragile — can't afford to take many hits, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 70 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many.

  • Vibrava appears in 15 games, including Ruby & Sapphire, FireRed & LeafGreen, and Emerald.

Debuting in Ruby & Sapphire, Vibrava appears in 15 games across 7 generations. A reliable presence in most mainline games, typically found through catching or hatching as a base form.
