Quaquaval doesn't stand out in any single area, but it gets the job done for in-game teams. 5 type weaknesses to keep in mind. Been around since Gen 9. Known as the Dancer Pokemon. Built to hit on the physical side.

Everything pushes toward physical damage here. Quaquaval's Attack does the work, Sp. Def pays the price. But you're still getting 3 Attack EVs per KO. Tough to catch, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.

Most of Quaquaval's flexibility comes from TMs. Same-type output runs through Hydro Cannon and Close Combat, but Normal and Flying and the rest of the TM pool push it from predictable to genuinely threatening.

You're catching Quaxly first, not Quaquaval. Quaxly appears at moderate rates in the encounters below. The step cards map the full 3-stage chain with evolution methods between each stage.

  3. Quaquaval
    Step 3Quaquaval
  • Quaquaval works as a wallbreaker with 530 BST behind it. B-Tier on our list — a solid choice for the right team. That 120 base Attack does the heavy lifting.

  • Quaquaval's biggest threats include Manectric (Electric), Roserade (Grass), and Braviary (Flying), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Psychic and Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Quaxwell evolves into Quaquaval at level 36. Quaquaval is the final evolution in a 3-stage line starting from Quaxly. At 530 BST, it's got solid stats to work with.

  • Torrent is the go-to ability for Quaquaval. It strengthens water moves to inflict 1.5× damage at 1/3 max HP or less. Its hidden ability Moxie can work in specific setups.

  • Quaquaval is a physical attacker with base 120 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 85 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. Fits the wallbreaker role.

  • Quaquaval can be found in Scarlet & Violet.

Since Scarlet & Violet, Quaquaval has been obtainable in 1 games. A Generation 9 debut means a shorter history, but Quaquaval has appeared steadily across every generation since.
