Bergmite sits at the start of its evolution line — not yet at full power, but that changes fast. Most trainers push through to Avalugg as fast as possible. Only weak to Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel. Known as the Ice Chunk Pokemon.

Defense and Attack carry most of Bergmite's stat budget. Speed's the obvious dump stat. Common in the wild and yields 1 Defense EV. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.

They live in mountainous regions of frigid cold. On rare occasions, they ride on the back of an Avalugg to cross seas and move to new habitats.

Scarlet

Bergmite protects itself by coating its body in ice formed by frigid air of −148 degrees Fahrenheit. It fights with Frigibax whenever they meet.

Violet

Bergmite Weakness

Fragile

Bergmite is weak to Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel-type moves. Bergmite's physical bulk (base 85 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

One evolution ahead. Bergmite grows into Avalugg through a straightforward two-stage chain. Plenty of partners for breeding via two egg groups. Eggs are average hatch time. Evolving adds up to 210 stat points total.

Leveling does the heavy lifting. Bergmite picks up Take Down and Blizzard along the way, building toward a complete offensive set. TMs add Normal and Dark coverage and more, but the foundation's already strong by then.

  • Bergmite is meant to evolve into Avalugg. At 304 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.

  • Bergmite's biggest threats include Blaziken (Fire), Lucario (Fighting), and Terrakion (Rock), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Steel-type attackers are also a problem. At base 28 Speed, Bergmite won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Bergmite can evolve into Avalugg and Hisuian Avalugg depending on the method. Bergmite is the base form in a 3-stage evolutionary line.

  • Own Tempo is the go-to ability for Bergmite. It prevents confusion. Its hidden ability Sturdy can work in specific setups. Ice Body is the other option — pick based on what your team needs.

  • Base 28 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Bergmite is a physical attacker with base 69 Attack.

  • Bergmite appears in 8 games, including X & Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.

Bergmite joined the series in X & Y and has been available in 8 titles so far. With 4 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
