Electric moves don't affect Whiscash at all — that's the advantage of Water/Ground typing. It relies on priority moves or Scarf to keep up. Flexible enough to run physical or special sets. Introduced in Gen 3.
Raw HP carries Whiscash's bulk more than the defenses do. Speed barely registers. But that HP pool covers for it. A moderately hard to find Whiskers Pokemon that yields 2 HP EVs on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
It is very territorial. It repels foes by setting off tremors that extend over a three-mile radius.
As a result of causing tremors by thrashing about, it developed the ability to foretell real quakes.
Whiscash Weakness
GoodWhiscash is weak to Grass-type moves. Watch out for Grass attacks, those deal 4x damage. On the flip side, it's immune to Electric-type moves entirely. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses. With 110 HP and balanced defenses, Whiscash can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
Evolved from Barboach. Whiscash is the final form in this two-stage line. A decent partner pool for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. HP grew the most through evolution (+60 over Barboach), and Whiscash peaks at 468 total stats.
How to Evolve
Breed with Whiscash to get Barboach eggs easily using 19 partners from the Water2 egg group. Notable egg moves include Flail, Hydro Pump, Spark and 3 more.
Find one free turn for Dragon Dance and Whiscash can run through teams. Jolly nature leans fast physical, Oblivious supports the sweep, and double STAB stops anything from walling it cleanly.

Egg moves make a real difference. Whiscash gets Flail and Hydro Pump exclusively through breeding, filling gaps that TMs and level-up can't touch. Psychic and Normal coverage and more rounds out the picture alongside Hydro Pump and Earthquake.

Barboach evolves into Whiscash at level 30. Whiscash is the fully evolved form. It sits at 468 BST in its evolved form.
Oblivious is the go-to ability for Whiscash. It prevents infatuation and protects against captivate. Its hidden ability Hydration can work in specific setups. Anticipation is the other option — pick based on what your team needs.
At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Whiscash is a physical attacker with base 78 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.
