Almost nobody uses Shroomish in battle. It exists to evolve into Breloom, which is a completely different story. Get it there and you won't regret it. Been around since Gen 3. 5 type weaknesses to keep in mind.
Shroomish's stats barely vary. 0 sit in respectable range with no real gaps. It's a blank slate for EV investment. Worth 1 HP EV, standard growth curve to max.
It prefers damp places. By day it remains still in the forest shade. It releases toxic powder from its head.
If it senses danger, it scatters spores from the top of its head to protect itself.
Shroomish Weakness
FragileFire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug-type moves hit Shroomish for super-effective damage. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage.
Shroomish evolves into Breloom. It's a two-stage chain with the method shown below. A decent partner pool for breeding via two egg groups. Eggs are quick to hatch. The evolved forms gain up to 165 total stats over Shroomish.
How to Evolve
Breed Shroomish easily with 45 breeding partners from the Fairy and Plant egg groups. Pass egg moves like Charm, Fake Tears, Helping Hand and 1 more to offspring.
Start with a spread EV build EVs. Adamant nature gives Shroomish the right physical lean, Toxic Orb adds self-poison for Guts or Poison Heal activation, and Poisonheal works in the background. Spore is the main damage option.

Without breeding, Shroomish misses out on Charm and Fake Tears. That's 4 egg moves adding depth that the base kit lacks. STAB comes from Solar Beam and Energy Ball, with Normal and Fighting coverage and more rounding things out.

Shroomish's scattered across 6 spots in early-game routes with high spawn rates. Check the list below for the closest location to wherever you are in the game. This one's quick.
Best Locations
walking encounters for Shroomish across 6 spots at Lv. 9-29. The catch is that Scarlet and Violet don't share every location, so compare what's available in your version.
Shroomish isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Breloom to unlock its full potential. At 295 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Watch for Charizard (Fire), Cloyster (Ice), and Crobat (Poison) when using Shroomish. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Flying and Bug-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. At base 35 Speed, Shroomish won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Shroomish evolves into Breloom at level 23. Shroomish is the base form of this evolutionary line.
Run Poison Heal on Shroomish. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Shroomish also gets Effect Spore and Quick Feet, but they don't compare.
Shroomish fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 40 Attack. Base 35 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.
