While most trainers evolve Panpour into Simipour immediately, the unevolved form has a niche with Eviolite boosting its defenses. Only weak to Electric and Grass. Can go either physical or special depending on the set. Part of the Gen 5 roster.

You won't find a real weakness in Panpour's stat line. It's well-rounded for the Spray Pokemon, and what it does with that depends on moveset and items. Yields 1 Speed EV, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.

STAB runs through Hydro Pump and Surf for the basics, but Panpour's real strength is the 12-type coverage spread. Normal and Ghost hit common defensive types, and the movepool keeps going.

Panpour can't be caught in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. Bring it over from Black, Black 2, or X instead. The encounter info below covers the source games.

Panpour is not available as a wild encounter in this game.

Catch in the wild in:

Then trade to Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire.

Also found in:

  • At 316 BST, Panpour is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Simipour before bringing it to any serious fight.

  • Watch for Rotom (Electric) and Venusaur (Grass) when using Panpour. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Panpour evolves into Simipour using a Water Stone. Panpour is the base form of this evolutionary line.

  • Gluttony makes the Pokémon eat any held Berry triggered by low HP below 1/2 its max HP — that's the one you want on Panpour. Torrent is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.

  • Panpour is leaning toward the physical side (base 53 Attack). Fragile — can't afford to take many hits, too. But the speed tells the real story — at base 64 Speed, it won't be moving first often.

  • Panpour appears in 7 games, including Black & White, Black 2 & White 2, and X & Y.

Since Black & White, Panpour has been obtainable in 7 games. A Generation 5 debut means a shorter history, but Panpour has appeared steadily across every generation since.
