Stats & Training
Nothing fancy in Klefki's spread. It leans mixed with Defense out front. And you'll get 1 Defense EV per KO for it. Follows a fast 800K XP curve.
Once it absorbs a key’s metal ions, it discards the key without a second thought. However, it will hang on to keys it favors for decades.
In the past, noble families entrusted their vault keys to a Klefki. They passed the Klefki down through the generations, taking good care of it.
Klefki Weakness
Klefki's Steel/Fairy typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire and Ground. It shrugs off Poison and Dragon-type attacks completely. It resists 9 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely. With 57 HP and balanced defenses, Klefki can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

Spikes is the priority every time Klefki comes in. Calm nature and max HP and Sp. Def EVs keep it alive long enough to get layers down, while Leftovers provides passive recovery each turn. Prankster rounds it out.

The level-up pool is slim, so TMs matter here. Klefki's Normal and Psychic coverage all comes from technical machines, built on top of Steel Beam and Play Rough for same-type damage. Play Rough and Future Sight are the payoff moves.

Klefki Guide
In Legends: Z-A, Klefki looks average on paper at 470 BST. But Prankster is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. B-Tier on our tier list. Thunder Wave with Leftovers is the standard set.
Klefki gets Prankster and Magician. But Prankster is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Klefki is leaning toward the physical side (base 80 Attack). Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 75 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many.
For Legends: Z-A, Klefki has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Fire and Ground-type attackers hit hardest.
Game Availability
Since X & Y, Klefki has been obtainable in 7 games. A Generation 6 debut means a shorter history, but Klefki has appeared steadily across every generation since.
