Grapploct Legends: Z-A Guide
In Legends: Z-A, Technician changes the entire equation for Grapploct. The 480 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a wallbreaker. Drain Punch with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Legends: Z-A, watch for Aerodactyl (Flying), Espeon (Psychic), and Sylveon (Fairy) when using Grapploct. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB.
Technician is what you want on Grapploct. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Limber) work on paper but Technician is what makes Grapploct worth using.
Base 42 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Grapploct is a mixed attacker with base 118 Attack and 70 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.
In Legends: Z-A, run Drain Punch, Sucker Punch, Stompingtantrum, and Muddywater on Grapploct. Drain Punch is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the wallbreaker role with a mix of damage and utility.
