While most trainers evolve Glameow into Purugly immediately, the unevolved form can still contribute in the right matchup. Ghost moves can't touch it, and only a single type hits it super-effectively. Part of the Gen 4 roster.

Nothing fancy in Glameow's spread. It leans mixed with Speed out front. And you'll get 1 Speed EV per KO for it. Follows a fast 800K XP curve.

It claws if displeased and purrs when affectionate. Its fickleness is very popular among some.

Diamond

With its sharp glare, it puts foes in a mild hypnotic state. It is a very fickle Pokémon.

Glameow Weakness

Good

Glameow's Normal typing leaves it vulnerable to Fighting moves. It shrugs off Ghost-type attacks completely. Glameow's Normal typing only leaves 1 gap to cover.

The natural movepool does the job, but Assurance and Bite from the egg pool give Glameow something extra. Pair those with Slash and Facade for STAB and coverage across 9 types for reach, and the kit fills out nicely.

  • At 310 BST, Glameow is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Purugly before bringing it to any serious fight.

  • Watch for Lucario (Fighting) when using Glameow. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Glameow evolves into Purugly at level 38. Glameow is the base form of this evolutionary line.

  • Limber prevents paralysis — that's the one you want on Glameow. Keen Eye is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Own Tempo works too if your team needs something different.

  • Glameow is leaning toward the physical side (base 55 Attack). Fragile — can't afford to take many hits, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 85 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many.

  • Glameow appears in 11 games, including Platinum, HeartGold & SoulSilver, and Diamond & Pearl.

Debuting in Diamond & Pearl, Glameow appears in 11 games across 6 generations. A reliable presence in a solid number of games, typically found through catching or hatching as a base form.
