Gigalith was practically built for Trick Room teams. Sand Stream sets sandstorm on switch-in, and 135 base Attack gives it real offensive presence. Introduced in Gen 5. 5 type weaknesses to keep in mind.

Attack leads and Speed gets almost nothing. That's Gigalith's stat line in a nutshell. 4 stats sit in respectable range, but the spread is brutal. Tough to catch and yields 3 Attack EVs.

Gigalith Weakness

Fragile

Type-wise, Gigalith takes extra damage from Water, Grass, Fighting, Ground, and Steel. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Gigalith's physical bulk (base 130 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

Getting Gigalith requires a trade, not just grinding levels. The chain starts at Roggenrola. Breed this form to get Roggenrola eggs (quick to hatch). Attack grew the most through evolution (+60 over Roggenrola), and Gigalith peaks at 515 total stats.

Breeding's the move. Autotomize and Curse give Gigalith options it can't learn any other way, and Normal and Ground coverage and more already covers a decent range on top of Stone Edge and Power Gem. The egg moves push it further.

The chain to Gigalith requires a trade evolution through a trade. Catch Roggenrola at decent rates and level through the stages, but line up the trade first. The rest of the chain runs on levels alone.

  3. Gigalith
    Step 3Gigalith
  • Sand Stream changes the entire equation for Gigalith. The 515 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked B-Tier as a wallbreaker.

  • Gigalith's biggest threats include Swampert (Water), Roserade (Grass), and Lucario (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Ground and Steel-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. At base 25 Speed, Gigalith won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Boldore evolves into Gigalith by trading. Gigalith is the final evolution in a 3-stage line starting from Roggenrola. At 515 BST, it's got solid stats to work with.

  • Sand Stream is what you want on Gigalith. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Sturdy, Sand Force) work on paper but Sand Stream is what makes Gigalith worth using. On wall sets, Sand Stream pairs with Gigalith's base 130 Defense to absorb physical hits on the switch.

  • Base 25 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Gigalith is a physical attacker with base 135 Attack. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a wallbreaker.

  • Gigalith appears in 7 games, including Black & White, Black 2 & White 2, and X & Y.

Gigalith joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 7 titles so far. With 5 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
