Mid-stage Pokemon like Fuecoco rarely see competitive play outside of special formats. It's a waypoint on the road to Skeledirge, which is where the real potential kicks in. Known as the Fire Croc Pokemon. Can go either physical or special depending on the set.
Fuecoco's spread isn't flashy. HP leads, Speed trails, 0 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 1 HP EV, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
It lies on warm rocks and uses the heat absorbed by its square-shaped scales to create fire energy.
Its flame sac is small, so energy is always leaking out. This energy is released from the dent atop Fuecoco’s head and flickers to and fro.
Fuecoco Weakness
AvgWater, Ground, and Rock-type moves hit Fuecoco for super-effective damage. 6 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that.
Fuecoco is the start of a three-stage chain. It evolves into Crocalor first, then eventually reaches Skeledirge. For breeding, average hatch time with a massive partner pool via one egg group. The evolved forms gain up to 220 total stats over Fuecoco.
How to Evolve
The slow wall spread is where Fuecoco earns its spot. Eviolite for a bulk boost that only works before full evolution, Relaxed nature for the right lean, and Slack Off handles sustain. Unaware does the rest without needing a move slot.

Without TMs, Fuecoco's movepool is bare bones. With them, you get coverage across 8 types on top of Overheat and Flare Blitz for STAB. The natural kit handles basics, but TMs are doing the real work.

Best Locations
Fuecoco isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Crocalor to unlock its full potential. At 310 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Fuecoco evolves into Crocalor at level 16. Fuecoco is the base form in a 3-stage evolutionary line.
Run Unaware on Fuecoco. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Fuecoco also gets Blaze, but they don't compare.
Fuecoco fills the balanced role. It's a special attacker with base 63 Sp. Atk. Base 36 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's fragile — can't afford to take many hits.
Fuecoco can be found in Scarlet & Violet.
Introduced in Scarlet & Violet, Fuecoco has appeared in 1 games across 1 generation. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
