Mid-stage Pokemon like Fraxure rarely see competitive play outside of special formats. It's a waypoint on the road to Haxorus, which is where the real potential kicks in. Part of the Gen 5 roster. Relies on priority moves or Scarf to keep up.
Nothing fancy in Fraxure's spread. It leans physical with Attack out front. And you'll get 2 Attack EVs per KO for it. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
A broken tusk will not grow back, so it diligently sharpens its tusks on river rocks after the end of a battle.
Fraxure Weakness
AvgFraxure's Dragon typing leaves it vulnerable to Ice and Dragon moves. The Dragon typing picks up 4 resistances to work with.
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
Fraxure sits between Axew and Haxorus in this three-stage line. Not the final form yet. For breeding, takes forever to hatch with no compatible partners via two egg groups. So far, Attack got the biggest boost (+30 from Axew). The final form adds another 130 stats on top.
How to Evolve
Breed with Fraxure to get Axew eggs easily from the Dragon and Monster egg groups. Notable egg moves include Counter, Dragon Pulse, Endeavor and 7 more.

STAB runs through Draco Meteor and Outrage for the basics, but Fraxure's real strength is the 12-type coverage spread. Dark and Normal hit common defensive types, and the movepool keeps going.

At 410 BST, Fraxure is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Haxorus before bringing it to any serious fight.
Fraxure gets Mold Breaker, Rivalry, and Unnerve. But Mold Breaker is the one that matters — it's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Fraxure is a physical attacker with base 117 Attack. But the speed tells the real story — at base 67 Speed, it won't be moving first often. Fits the cannon role.
Fraxure appears in 8 games, including Black & White, Black 2 & White 2, and X & Y.
Since Black & White, Fraxure has been obtainable in 8 games. A Generation 5 debut means a shorter history, but Fraxure has appeared steadily across every generation since.
