Stats & Training
Everything pushes toward physical damage here. Anorith's Attack does the work, Sp. Atk pays the price. But you're still getting 1 Attack EV per KO. Tough to catch, on a standard growth curve.
It is a kind of POKéMON progenitor. It uses its extending claws to catch prey hiding among rocks on the seafloor.

Anorith Weakness
Anorith's Rock/Bug typing leaves it vulnerable to Water, Rock, and Steel. Not too many gaps in the chart, 3 weaknesses to account for.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Water, Rock, Steel |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Normal, Poison |
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
In FireRed & LeafGreen, Swampert can KO Anorith with Hydro Pump (155-183%). Forretress's Explosion hits Anorith for 61-72%. Gyarados's Earthquake also KOs at 87-103%.

FireRed & LeafGreen Evolution
Anorith is the base form in a two-stage line leading to Armaldo. Check the evolution method below. A decent partner pool for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are slow to hatch. The evolved forms gain up to 140 total stats over Anorith. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed Anorith with 19 breeding partners from the Water3 egg group. Pass egg moves like Knock Off, Rapid Spin, Rock Slide and 1 more to offspring.

Moves
You'll want to breed for Knock Off and Rapid Spin on Anorith. These egg moves aren't just nice to have. Combined with STAB from Rock Slide and Ancient Power, they expand what Anorith can actually threaten in practice.

Anorith Guide
At 355 BST, Anorith is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Armaldo before bringing it to any serious fight.
Anorith gets Swift Swim and Battle Armor. But Swift Swim is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
In FireRed & LeafGreen, Anorith's hidden ability is Swift Swim. Doubles Speed during rain. Better than the standard options for competitive play.
Anorith is a physical attacker with base 95 Attack. Fragile, can't afford to take many hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 75 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many.
Game Availability
Debuting in Ruby & Sapphire, Anorith appears in 14 games across 8 generations. A reliable presence in a solid number of games, typically found through catching or hatching as a base form.
