Don't let the raw stats fool you. Mold Breaker ignores opposing abilities when attacking, and that completely changes the math for Veluza. 5 type weaknesses to keep in mind. Introduced in Gen 9. It needs some investment to avoid getting outsped.

Attack and HP carry most of Veluza's stat budget. Sp. Def's the obvious dump stat. Moderately hard to find and yields 2 Attack EVs. Follows a fast 800K XP curve.

When Veluza discards unnecessary flesh, its mind becomes honed and its psychic power increases. The spare flesh has a mild but delicious flavor.

Scarlet

Veluza has excellent regenerative capabilities. It sheds spare flesh from its body to boost its agility, then charges at its prey.

Violet

Veluza Weakness

Vulnerable

Veluza is weak to Electric, Grass, Bug, Ghost, and Dark-type moves. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. That's a lot of weak spots to cover so team support is important.

Veluza runs a standard physical attacker set. Adamant nature with max Attack and Speed EVs shapes the build, while Sitrus Berry brings a one-time health recovery at low HP. Sharpness supports the kit from the background.

TMs carry this one. Veluza learns Hydro Pump and Psychic naturally for STAB, but the offensive range comes almost entirely from technical machines. Normal and Flying and beyond give it real matchup play.

  • Mold Breaker changes the entire equation for Veluza. The 478 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as an attacker.

  • Veluza's biggest threats include Regieleki (Electric), Rillaboom (Grass), and Scyther (Bug), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Ghost and Dark-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Veluza doesn't evolve and has no evolutionary line. It's a Water/Psychic-type Pokemon with a 478 base stat total.

  • Mold Breaker is what you want on Veluza. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Sharpness) work on paper but Mold Breaker is what makes Veluza worth using.

  • Base 70 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Veluza is a physical attacker with base 102 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as an attacker.

  • Veluza can be found in Scarlet & Violet.

Veluza joined the series in Scarlet & Violet and has been available in 1 titles so far. With 1 generation of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
