What separates Roserade from the pack is Natural Cure — it clears status conditions when it switches out. Combine that with Grass/Poison typing and it sits at a decent but contested Speed tier. Only weak to Fire, Ice, Flying, and Psychic.

Everything pushes toward special damage here. Roserade's Sp. Atk does the work, HP pays the price. But you're still getting 3 Sp. Atk EVs per KO. Moderately hard to find, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.

Hidden within the bouquet on each hand are thorned whips loaded with virulent poison. Roserade moves gracefully as it corners its prey and mercilessly lashes them with its whips.

Roserade Weakness

Vulnerable

Roserade's Grass/Poison typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Ice, Flying, and Psychic moves. The Grass/Poison typing picks up 5 resistances to work with. Roserade's special bulk (base 105 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Roserade evolved from Budew's chain using an evolution item. It's a non-standard trigger, so check the details below. Breed this form to get Budew eggs (average hatch time). The evolution from Budew pushed Roserade to 515 total stats. Sp.Atk saw the largest single gain at +75.

Bulk and offense in one package. Roserade runs Black Sludge for Poison-type passive recovery with a Timid nature, so it survives long enough to threaten with Sludge Bomb. Max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs and the remaining moves make it hard to safely switch into.

The level-up pool tells the story here. Roserade learns Leaf Storm and Energy Ball naturally, plus enough variety that TMs feel like bonuses. Bug and Normal coverage and more extends the reach beyond that.

Roserade isn't available in the wild in Legends: Z-A. Start by transferring Budew from Diamond, Platinum, or Sword. The evolution path from Budew to Roserade is covered in the steps below.

How to Obtain Roserade in Legends: Z-A

  1. Budew
    Step 1Breed Budew from Roselia
  2. Roselia
    Step 2Evolve into Roselia
  3. Roserade
    Step 3Roserade
  • Roserade looks average on paper at 515 BST. But Natural Cure is why it sees play — build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier wallbreaker on our tier list.

  • Watch for Infernape (Fire), Lapras (Ice), and Aerodactyl (Flying) when using Roserade. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Psychic-type attackers are also a problem.

  • Roselia evolves into Roserade using a Shiny Stone. Roserade is the final evolution in a 3-stage line starting from Budew. At 515 BST, it's got solid stats to work with.

  • Roserade gets Natural Cure, Poison Point, and Technician. But Natural Cure is the one that matters — it's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that. Natural Cure synergizes with Roserade's base 105 Sp.Def, letting it soak special attacks as a pivot.

  • Roserade is leaning toward the special side (base 125 Sp. Atk). Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 90 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. Fits the wallbreaker role.

  • Roserade appears in 13 games, including Platinum, HeartGold & SoulSilver, and Diamond & Pearl.

Since Diamond & Pearl, Roserade has been in 13 games. Requiring an item-based evolution to obtain means it's consistently available but requires more effort than simply catching it in the wild.
