Almost nobody uses Yamper in battle. It exists to evolve into Boltund, which is a completely different story. Get it there and you won't regret it. Introduced in Gen 8. Only weak to Ground.
HP and Defense carry most of Yamper's stat budget. Speed's the obvious dump stat. Easy to catch and yields 1 HP EV. Follows a fast 800K XP curve.
This Pokémon is very popular as a herding dog in the Galar region. As it runs, it generates electricity from the base of its tail.
This gluttonous Pokémon only assists people with their work because it wants treats. As it runs, it crackles with electricity.
Yamper Weakness
GoodYamper's Electric typing leaves it vulnerable to Ground moves. Few weaknesses and 3 resistances make the typing clean. Just 1 weak spot to worry about, which keeps teambuilding straightforward.
One evolution ahead. Yamper grows into Boltund through a straightforward two-stage chain. A massive partner pool for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. The evolved forms gain up to 220 total stats over Yamper.
How to Evolve
Yamper's built to absorb hits. Calm nature leans into special wall duty, Focus Sash gives it a guaranteed survive from full HP, and Rest handles sustain. Rattled and max HP and Sp. Def EVs tie the defensive profile together.

Yamper is meant to evolve into Boltund. At 270 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.
Watch for Rhydon (Ground) when using Yamper. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. At base 26 Speed, Yamper won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Yamper evolves into Boltund at level 25. Yamper is the base form of this evolutionary line.
Ball Fetch if the Pokémon is not holding an item, it will fetch the Poké Ball from the first failed throw of the battle — that's the one you want on Yamper. Rattled is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.
Base 26 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Yamper is a mixed attacker — base 45 Attack and 40 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Fragile — can't afford to take many hits.
Yamper can be found in Sword & Shield.
