Mid-stage Pokemon like Solosis rarely see competitive play outside of special formats. It's a waypoint on the road to Reuniclus, which is where the real potential kicks in. Only weak to Bug, Ghost, and Dark. Known as the Cell Pokemon.
Sp. Atk leads and Speed gets almost nothing. That's Solosis's stat line in a nutshell. 1 stats sit in respectable range, but the spread is brutal. Easy to catch and yields 1 Sp. Atk EV.
They drive away attackers by unleashing psychic power. They can use telepathy to talk with others.
Because their bodies are enveloped in a special liquid, they can survive in any environment.
Solosis Weakness
VulnerableBug, Ghost, and Dark-type moves hit Solosis for super-effective damage. Standard number of weaknesses for the Psychic typing.
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
Three stages ahead. Solosis grows into Duosion, then pushes on to Reuniclus. Check the evolution methods below. For breeding, average hatch time with a decent partner pool via one egg group. The evolved forms gain up to 200 total stats over Solosis.
How to Evolve

Don't skip the egg moves. Solosis picks up Acid Armor and Astonish only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Future Sight and Dream Eater while Rock and Normal coverage and more adds range.

Magic Guard is what you want on Solosis. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Overcoat, Regenerator) work on paper but Magic Guard is what makes Solosis worth using.
Base 20 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Solosis is a special attacker with base 105 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Fragile — can't afford to take many hits. Best used as an attacker.
Solosis appears in 8 games, including Black & White, Black 2 & White 2, and X & Y.
