Mid-stage Pokemon like Naclstack rarely see competitive play outside of special formats. It's a waypoint on the road to Garganacl, which is where the real potential kicks in. 5 type weaknesses to keep in mind. Known as the Rock Salt Pokemon.

Naclstack's spread favors physical bulk over offense. Defense leads the defensive side, Sp. Atk eats the cost. Yields 2 Defense EVs per defeat. 1.06M XP medium-slow curve to level.

Scarlet

It compresses rock salt inside its body and shoots out hardened salt pellets with enough force to perforate an iron sheet.

Naclstack Weakness

Fragile

Water, Grass, Fighting, Ground, and Steel-type moves hit Naclstack for super-effective damage. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Naclstack's physical bulk (base 100 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

No wild encounters for Naclstack in Legends: Z-A. Bring Nacli over from Scarlet, then level through the stages. Each step in the chain is laid out below.

How to Obtain Naclstack in Legends: Z-A

  1. Nacli
    Step 1Obtain Nacli

    Catch in the wild in:

Then trade to Legends: Z-A to continue the evolution chain.

  2. Naclstack
    Step 2Naclstack
  • Naclstack isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Garganacl to unlock its full potential. At 355 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.

  • Watch for Milotic (Water), Kartana (Grass), and Urshifu (Fighting) when using Naclstack. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Ground and Steel-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. At base 35 Speed, Naclstack won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Nacli evolves into Naclstack at level 24. Naclstack evolves into Garganacl at level 38. Naclstack is a middle-stage evolution in the Nacli line.

  • Purifying Salt protects from status conditions and halves damage from Ghost-type moves — that's the one you want on Naclstack. Clear Body is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Sturdy works too if your team needs something different.

  • Naclstack fills the balanced role. It's leaning toward the physical side (base 60 Attack). Base 35 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • Naclstack can be found in Legends: Z-A and Scarlet & Violet.

Introduced in Scarlet & Violet, Naclstack has appeared in 2 games across 1 generation. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
