Over the course of evolution, its hind legs turned into wings. By alternately resting its front and rear wings, it can fly all day without having to stop.

Don't skip the egg moves. Crobat picks up Curse and Feint Attack only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Fly and Sludge Bomb while Ghost and Bug coverage and more adds range.

Crobat Guide

  • For Emerald, we rate Crobat C-Tier: a niche pick in Emerald's meta. At 535 BST, it fits the pivot role. Sludge Bomb with Choice Band is the standard set.

  • In Emerald, watch for Raikou (Electric), Lapras (Ice), and Alakazam (Psychic) when using Crobat. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Rock-type attackers are also a problem.

  • Inner Focus prevents flinching. That's the one you want on Crobat. Infiltrator is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.

  • Base 130 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Crobat is a physical attacker with base 90 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a pivot.

  • For Emerald, Crobat has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Electric, Ice, and Psychic-type attackers hit hardest.

Game Availability

Available in 18 titles since its debut in Gold & Silver, Crobat spans 9 generations of Pokemon games. It's accessible through wild encounters in most mainline games.
