Different Catch Mechanics
Pokemon Legends Z-A (released October 16, 2025) blends real-time MOBA-style combat with stealth captures across Lumiose City. The combat system is NOT a continuation of the Legends: Arceus stealth-action system — Z-A introduces real-time action battles inspired by Pokemon UNITE alongside its sneak-and-throw capture moments.
Catches use a modified Scarlet/Violet formula with rebalanced multipliers documented by the community so far: Quick Ball 3x, Lure Ball 3.5x, Shiny target 3x, Alpha target 0.5x penalty, back-strike 2x, awareness 1.5x, plus an HP-zero stun window when you knock the target into a brief catchable state. The standard battle-based catch calculator does not model these Z-A-specific multipliers yet.
