Welcome to the League of Legends Snowdown Event, during the holidays Riot has a special event for players. During this time you will be able to purchase Legacy Skins, Unlock Summoner Icons and even have access to some new Hextech Chests.
This LoL Snowdown 2016 players will be able to earn exclusive Summoner Icons and have yet another chance at purchasing tons of Legacy Skin only available during the holidays. Below we will explain in detail how you can unlock the holiday icons this season.

Snowdown Icons
Every LoL Holiday Event players are eligible to unlock snowdown summoner icons. Some of these icons can simply be bought, while others have requirements. Below we will explain how to unlock all snowdown icons this season 2016.
Purchasable Icons
Red-Nosed Poro Icon | Snowblower Icon | Snowflake Icon
All three of these Snowdown Icons are purchasable VIA the Riot Shop.

These unique Holiday Summoner Icons will change the appearance of your Poro in the Legend of the Poro King Game-Type.

Star Guardian Icon | Dark Star Icon
Players will be able to purchase last season Snowdown Poro’s temporarily during 12/14/16 – 1/9/17.
Crafting Exclusive Snowdown Icons
Players will earn”Snowdown Sweets” from any Hextech Chests. You will also be able to purchase these for IP during the weekends.
Note: Sweets expire on January 16, 2017
Jolly Penguin Icon | Gingerbread Man Icon
These Summoner Icons can only be unlocked through Hextech Crafting.
Cost: Jolly Penguin Icon = 6 Sweets | Gingerbread Man Icon = 12 Sweets

Regifted Amumu Icon | Poro Snax Lover Icon
Along with this Summoner Icon players will also unlock a Temp In-Game Emote.
Cost: Regifted Amumu Icon + Emote = 24 Sweets | Poro Snax Lover Icon + Emote = 36 sweets

Snowdown Chests
This LoL holiday season players will have 4 unique Hextech Chest choices to choose from, each having their own special rewards. Below we explain the difference between them and what you will earn from each chest.
Winter Chest
Cost: 125 RP (195 RP With Hextech Key)
- A regular Hextech Chest with the same drops as usual, plus one bonus “Sweet”.
Snowdown Chest
Cost: 295 RP (NO Hextech Key Required)
- A new themed Snowdown Chest will be available each day, containing a guaranteed thematic skin shard and three bonus sweets.
- Each themed Snowdown Chest will be available at least twice during this event, but you can only buy six snowdown chest each day.
- Snowdown chests have 2x the chance to drop Poro King’s Treasure Chest Fragments.
- Each Chest will only contain skin shards within a specific thematic ( Example: Fire Skins or Robot Skins).
Legacy Chest
Cost: 295 RP (NO Hextech Key Required)
- A special retired Legacy Skin only Chest available during the weekends and containing 1 bonus “Sweet”.
Poro King’s Treasure Chest
Cost: Crafted Only Using Poro King’s Treasure Chest Fragments ( NO Hextech Key Required)
- Collect at least 3 Poro King’s Treasure Chest Fragments from any chest purchased during the Snowdown event.
- Guaranteed Permanent Skin Rewards From the Poro King Chest.
