How To Make a Helms Runeword FAQ/Checklist

Socketable Item:
Runewords will only work in Non-Magical Items (Grey Text Items) Normal, Exceptional, Elite, Low Quality, Superior, and Ethereal. (This means they DO NOT work in Magical, Rare, Set, Crafted or Unique Item)
Socket Amount:
The Helms must have the exact amount of Sockets as the Runeword requires, or it will not work.
Item Type:
Depending on the Runeword, it will require a specific item type (Shields, Swords, Melee Weapons, etc).
Runeword Order:
You will need to place the Runes in the correct order or it will not work. (Start from Left to Right with the Runes used in Runewords shown below)

How To Socket a Helms in D2

You can use a Cube Recipe to Reroll a Normal Helms (Gray Text) and attempt to reroll it with Sockets.

Helm Socket Horadric Cube Recipe: 1 Ral Rune + 1 Thul Rune + 1 Perfect Sapphire + Any Normal Helm = Socketed Helm of same type

You can also complete the first quest in Act 4 Siege on Harrogath from Larzuk. After you complete the quest he will socket an item of your choice.
Larzuk will add the maximum number of sockets for Low Quality, Normal, Superior item, and Ethereal Items (Gray/White Text)
(NOTE: iLvl will affect the amount of Max Sockets.)
1 or 2 sockets randomly for a Magic Item
1 socket for Rare, Set, Unique, and Crafted items
