Escavalier was practically built for Trick Room teams. 135 base Attack provides real offensive pressure once it's 'fastest' on the field. Known as the Cavalry Pokemon. Introduced in Gen 5.

Attack leads and Speed gets almost nothing. That's Escavalier's stat line in a nutshell. 3 stats sit in respectable range, but the spread is brutal. Moderately hard to find and yields 2 Attack EVs.

They use shells they’ve stolen from Shelmet to arm and protect themselves. They’re very popular Pokémon in the Galar region.

Sword

It charges its enemies, lances at the ready. An image of one of its duels is captured in a famous painting of Escavalier clashing with Sirfetch’d.

Shield

Escavalier Weakness

Excellent

Fire-type moves hit Escavalier for super-effective damage. Fire hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Poison-type moves can't touch it at all. With 8 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Escavalier's overall bulk (70/105/105) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

  2. Escavalier
    Step 2Escavalier
  • We rate Escavalier C-Tier — a situational pick that fills a niche. At 495 BST, it fits the wallbreaker role. Base 135 Attack stands out.

  • Watch for Volcarona (Fire) when using Escavalier. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Volcarona is the most dangerous since Fire moves deal 4x damage. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. At base 20 Speed, Escavalier won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Karrablast evolves into Escavalier by trading. Escavalier is the fully evolved form. At 495 BST, it's got solid stats to work with.

  • Swarm strengthens bug moves to inflict 1.5× damage at 1/3 max HP or less — that's the one you want on Escavalier. Overcoat is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Shell Armor works too if your team needs something different.

  • Base 20 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Escavalier is a physical attacker with base 135 Attack. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a wallbreaker.

  • Escavalier appears in 7 games, including Black & White, Black 2 & White 2, and X & Y.

Escavalier joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 7 titles so far. With 5 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
