Hidden items are buried all over every area. Pokemon with the Search specialty act as living metal detectors, alerting you when something's underground nearby. Pidgey is the easiest Search Pokemon to find early. Just lead it around and dig where it points.
Steps#
- Befriend a Pokemon with the Search specialty (Pidgey, Umbreon, Parasect, Venonat, or Drilbur are good options).
- Lead the Search Pokemon as a follower while exploring.
- Watch for the Pokemon's reactions — it will alert you when hidden items are nearby.
- Dig or interact with the spot the Pokemon indicates to collect the hidden item.
- Different areas have different hidden items — explore all regions for the best finds.
Pidgey is the most common Search Pokemon and shows up very early. A few others carry it in later areas. Have a Search Pokemon follow you, then interact with glowing spots on the ground to dig up hidden items.
Buried treasures, rare materials, evolution stones, and sometimes Stardust. The items depend on the area. Rocky Ridges has more ore-related finds, while Sparkling Skylands drops rare crafting materials you can't get any other way.
Most hidden item spots reset once per in-game day. Some rare spots are one-time only. Bring a Search Pokemon on every expedition and check any shimmering ground patches you spot. The loot is worth the detour.
