Up to 5 befriended Pokemon can trail behind you at once. They use their specialties on the fly when you interact with objects, so your follower team basically determines what you can do on any given expedition. Pick the right five and you're set for anything.
Steps#
- Walk up to a befriended Pokemon and talk to it.
- Select "Follow me!" from the dialogue options.
- Alternatively, approach a befriended Pokemon and press Up on the D-pad.
- The Pokemon will now trail behind you as you walk around.
- To dismiss all followers, hold the Up button on the D-pad.
- You can have up to 5 Pokemon following at once — each with a different specialty for maximum utility.

Up to 5 Pokemon can follow you at the same time. Press D-pad Up near a befriended Pokemon to add them to your party. They'll walk behind you and use their specialties automatically when you interact with objects in the world.
