Farming in Pokopia starts with the Rototiller ability from Drilbur. Till soil, plant Bean, Tomato, or Wheat seeds, water them with Water Gun, and harvest crops for cooking recipes and vegetable field habitats.

Steps#

  1. Help Drilbur water the dry soil in eastern Withered Wasteland to learn Rototiller. He gives you 5 Bean Seeds to start.
  2. Stand on grass or dirt and use Rototiller (ZR) to till the soil. The ground turns dark brown when tilled successfully.
  3. Open your inventory, select seeds, aim at a tilled plot, and press A to plant them.
  4. Water crops with Water Gun if needed. Some crops like Tomatoes require watering, while Beans grow on their own.
  5. Lead a Pokemon with the Grow specialty (Bulbasaur, Rowlet) near your crops to speed up growth time.
  6. Harvest fully grown crops by pressing A on them. Use the harvest in cooking recipes or leave fields planted for habitats.

Bean Field

Beans are the first crop you unlock in Withered Wasteland. Buy Bean Seeds from the Pokemon Center for 50 Life Coins per 5 bags. Beans grow without watering.

Tomato Field

Tomato Seeds unlock after raising Bleak Beach environment level. Costs 40 Life Coins per 5 bags. Tomatoes need Water Gun to grow. Each vine yields 3 tomatoes.

Wheat Field

Wheat Seeds are found in Rocky Ridges as gifts from Pokemon, in red Pokeballs, and water splashes. Wheat is the key ingredient for bread recipes.

Habitats That Need Vegetable Fields

These habitats require planted crop fields. Any vegetable type (Beans, Tomatoes, or Wheat) counts for the requirement.

  • Help Drilbur water the dry soil in the eastern part of Withered Wasteland, near the Pokemon Center. Drilbur teaches you the Rototiller ability and gives you 5 Bean Seeds to get started. After that, you can till any grass or dirt patch to create a crop field.

  • Three types: Beans (Withered Wasteland, 50 Life Coins for 5 seeds), Tomatoes (Bleak Beach, 40 Life Coins for 5 seeds), and Wheat (Rocky Ridges, found as gifts from Pokemon and in red Pokeballs). Each crop unlocks in a different region as you progress.

  • Yes. The "Vegetable field (any)" requirement means any planted and growing crop field counts. Bean fields, tomato fields, and wheat fields all qualify. Plant whichever seeds you have available.

  • Some do, some do not. Beans grow on their own without watering. Tomatoes need Water Gun to grow. Check each crop after planting — if growth stalls, try watering with Water Gun. You can also bring a Grow-specialty Pokemon nearby to speed things up.

  • Rototiller tills bare ground into plantable soil and can pick up existing plants to move them. Leafage grows new grass on bare ground. For farming, you need Rototiller to prepare the soil before planting seeds. Leafage is for grass, not crops.
