Pokopia runs limited-time events that add exclusive Pokemon, new habitats, and special items on a rotating schedule. Events use their own currencies earned from Dream Islands, and event Pokemon stay in your town permanently once befriended. Mystery Gifts are separate freebies redeemable at the Pokemon Center PC.
The first limited-time event in Pokemon Pokopia. Collect Cotton Spores from Dream Islands and exchange them for picnic furniture to build event habitats. Befriend Hoppip, Skiploom, and Jumpluff — exclusive to this event.
Early purchase bonus decoration. A Ditto-shaped rug for your home.
Release celebration gift. Includes consumable items for early-game boost.
Starter guide book bonus. Building materials and utility items for early-game town development.
Upcoming event featuring Sableye. Collect event currency and build the Treasure-Hunting Set habitat to befriend Sableye. Official event name TBD.
Limited-time events run for a set number of days (typically 2 weeks) and add exclusive content you can't get any other way. Each event introduces its own currency, earned from Dream Islands during the event period. Spend the currency at the Pokemon Center exchange shop to buy event-specific furniture and habitat items. Build event habitats to attract the exclusive Pokemon. Once befriended, event Pokemon stay in your town permanently after the event ends.
Yes. Any event Pokemon you befriend during the event period stays in your town permanently. The event habitats and items also remain in your inventory. You just can't earn more event currency or buy more event items once the event window closes.
Go to any rebuilt Pokemon Center, interact with the PC, and select "Mystery Gifts" from the menu. Choose "Get via Internet" for automatic gifts (like the Ditto Rug) or "Get with Code/Password" for serial code gifts. Codes are 16 characters and work worldwide regardless of region. You need to unlock the Pokemon Center first, which happens about 30 minutes into the game in Withered Wasteland.
Cotton Spores are the special currency for the "More Spores for Hoppip" event (March 9-24, 2026). They spawn on Dream Islands during the event period. Visit any Dream Island via Drifloon to collect them, then exchange them at the Pokemon Center shop for picnic furniture items needed to build event habitats.
Limited-time in-game events do NOT require Nintendo Switch Online. The event content is tied to the system clock and activates automatically. However, Mystery Gifts that use "Get via Internet" do require an internet connection (not necessarily NSO membership). Serial code gifts just need you to enter the code at the Pokemon Center PC.
