Bulk defines Scream Tail's stat line. HP and Sp. Def anchor the defensive side, but Attack can't keep up offensively. Tough to catch and worth 3 HP EVs.

Poison, Ghost, and Steel moves hit Scream Tail for super-effective damage. The upside? Dragon-type moves can't touch it at all. Scream Tail's overall bulk (115/99/115) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

  • We rate Scream Tail B-Tier: a solid choice for the right team. At 570 BST, it fits the wall role. Base 115 HP stands out.

  • Watch for Nidoking (Poison), Dusknoir (Ghost), and Lucario (Steel) when using Scream Tail. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Scream Tail has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.

  • Protosynthesis raises highest stat in harsh sunlight, or if holding Booster Energy. That's the one you want on Scream Tail. It's the only ability Scream Tail has.

  • Base 111 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Scream Tail is leaning toward the physical side (base 65 Attack). Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a wall.

  • Scream Tail has answers, but so do you. Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Physical attackers can break through.

Scream Tail joined the series in Scarlet & Violet and has been available in 1 titles so far. With 2 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
