How to Unlock Mosslax#

  1. Unlock Bleak Beach and find Mosslax snoring behind rocks (use Rock Smash to clear).
  2. Accept the "Brighten Things Up" quest from Professor Tangrowth.
  3. Connect Utility Poles between power sources (windmills, water wheels, furnaces) and streetlamps.
  4. Reach 100 bloom points — watch the flowers on Mosslax's head bloom as you progress.
  5. Climb to the top of town. Raikou appears and jolts Mosslax awake.
  6. Build a Gourmet's Offering habitat (needs an Offering Dish) to use Mosslax Boosts.

About Mosslax#

A Snorlax that tried to sleep off a bad mood after losing a fight. He ended up sleeping through the entire apocalypse. According to Professor Tangrowth, Mosslax has been out for centuries — long enough for moss to cover his body and a flower to sprout from his head. He blocks the path forward in Bleak Beach until you reach 100 bloom points, and the flowers on his head bloom progressively as you get closer to waking him. When the lights finally come on, Raikou appears and jolts him awake.

Services#

Provides daily flavor-based boosts when fed. Place food on the Gourmet's Offering altar once per day and the dominant flavor determines your buff. Spicy increases habitat spawns. Sweet boosts Ancient Artefact finds. Bitter helps with rare item drops. Dry attracts rare-feathered Pokemon like Lugia and Ho-Oh. Sour improves shop inventory quality. Neutral meals raise your friendship rate with Pokemon. Boosts reset at 05:00 each day. Cook meals with Chef Dente, then offer them here.

  • Reach 100 bloom points in Bleak Beach by connecting Utility Poles between power sources (windmills, water wheels, furnaces) and streetlamps. Each connection raises the meter. At 100, climb to the top of town and Raikou shows up, shocked at all the lights. Raikou's jolt is what actually wakes Mosslax.

  • A daily buff system. Feed Mosslax at the Gourmet's Offering altar and the food's dominant flavor determines your boost. Spicy boosts habitat spawns. Dry attracts Pokemon with rare feathers like Lugia and Ho-Oh. Sweet increases Ancient Artefact drops. Each buff lasts until 05:00 the next day. Cook food with Chef Dente first, then offer it to Mosslax.

  • His Pokedex entry says he tried to sleep off a bad mood after losing a fight. He accidentally slept through the entire apocalypse. Professor Tangrowth confirms he's been asleep for centuries. The moss and flowers are the result of that extremely long nap.

  • The area gate opens, giving you access to the rest of Bleak Beach. Raikou appears at the top of town and can be befriended with the Generate specialty. Your Trainer Rank also gets upgraded.
