About Professor Tangrowth#
Professor Tangrowth was once a young Tangela, found injured and healed by a human Pokemon Professor. He followed the professor home, grew close to the family, and became fascinated by human technology. When humanity evacuated under the Pokemon Conservation Project, Tangela ran off and got left behind. He evolved alone in the empty wasteland and now wears his former professor's broken glasses on his chest. The last Pokemon remaining in Kanto before Ditto's arrival.

Bring Lost Relics to Professor Tangrowth and he'll appraise them. There are 46 small relics (collectible decorations referencing classic Pokemon items like Miracle Seed and Choice Band) and 37 large relics (furniture pieces found by smashing gold glowing blocks). Each appraisal unlocks a crafting recipe, and certain relics are required to attract specific Pokemon to your habitats.
Professor Tangrowth's 9-stage quest chain that makes Ditto an official team member. Each stage rewards a badge inspired by the Kanto gym badges: Bouldery, Cascade-like, Thunderish, Rainbowish, Soul-like, Marshy, Volcanoey, and Earth. The challenges start with delivering 5 Leppa Berries (Stage 1) and escalate to crafting appliances (Stage 7) and submitting a Cherished Photo (Stage 8). The finale at Stage 9 requires 2 Party Poppers and rewards the Memories Photo Frame.
Relics are hidden in glowing spots on the ground and inside gold glowing blocks. Small relics are collectible items that reference past Pokemon games. Large relics are furniture you can place in habitats. Use the Dowsing Machine with a Search specialty Pokemon to find them faster. You can also trade duplicate relics through Pokemon with the Collect specialty.
