ORAS Wobbuffet Best Moveset
AbilityShadow Tag prevents switching and MoveCounter and MoveMirror Coat reflect double damage back. 190 HP absorbs hits. But 33 offenses can't attack directly and the moveset has exactly four options total. A niche slot that depends entirely on the opponent attacking into the right reflect move.

Base Stats
If two or more Wobbuffet meet, they will turn competitive and try to outdo each other’s endurance. However, they may try to see which one can endure the longest without food. Trainers need to beware of this habit.
Wobbuffet does nothing but endure attacks—it won’t attack on its own. However, it won’t endure an attack on its tail. When that happens, the Pokémon will try to take the foe with it using Destiny Bond.
Wobbuffet Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Guide
- How do I catch Wobbuffet in the Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Safari Zone?
See the Locations section above for where to find Wobbuffet in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire.
Safari rules: You can only use Safari Balls. No battling. Two tactical items shift the catch/flee trade-off:
- Throw bait to keep Wobbuffet from fleeing (flee rate cut to 1/4) but it becomes harder to catch (catch factor halved).
- Throw a rock to make Wobbuffet easier to catch (catch factor doubled) but it flees twice as often.
- Each effect lasts 2-6 random turns; throwing one cancels the other.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Wobbuffet's biggest threats include Heracross (Bug), Misdreavus (Ghost), and Tyranitar (Dark), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. At base 33 Speed, Wobbuffet won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Wobbuffet can work for a story run. 405 BST is average, but Psychic typing fills a niche depending on your team composition.
For Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, we rate Wobbuffet C-Tier: a niche pick in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire's meta. At 405 BST, it fits the support role. Counter with Sitrus Berry is the standard set.
Shadow Tag is the go-to ability for Wobbuffet. It prevents opponents from fleeing or switching out. Its hidden ability Telepathy can work in specific setups.
