Wishiwashi Best Moveset

AbilitySchooling transforms this at 25%+ HP into School Forme with massive stats across the board, but base 45/20/20/25/25/40 is among the weakest starting points possible. The moveset depends entirely on staying above 25% HP. F-tier because losing School Forme means losing everything competitive.

Wishiwashi Guide

  • Wishiwashi's biggest threats include Manectric (Electric) and Breloom (Grass), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. At base 40 Speed, Wishiwashi won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Honestly, Wishiwashi is a tough sell at 175 BST. Plenty of stronger Water options exist. Fun pick, not a practical one.

  • Wishiwashi looks average on paper at 175 BST. But Schooling is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier on our tier list.

  • Wishiwashi gets Schooling. But Schooling is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • Wishiwashi is a mixed attacker with base 20 Attack and 25 Sp. Atk. Fragile, can't afford to take many hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 40 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.

Game Availability

Since Sun & Moon, Wishiwashi has been obtainable in 3 games. A Generation 7 debut means a shorter history, but Wishiwashi has appeared steadily across every generation since.
